If you’re reading this, then congratulations—you’ve found the very first post on Brimblewisp.
To be honest, I’ve started and rewritten this introduction more times than I’d like to admit. Not because I didn’t know what to say, but because pressing “publish” is surprisingly intimidating. Brimblewisp was created as a place to collect the things that inspire me: stories, books, fandoms, nature photography, creative projects, and the ideas that seem to linger long after I’ve encountered them. Some of these interests have been with me for years. Others are things I’m still learning, exploring, and figuring out as I go.
But if I’m being completely honest, this blog exists for another reason too. I’ve always loved writing, but sharing my writing has never come easily. Letting other people read something I’ve created can feel vulnerable in a way that’s hard to explain. For a long time, I’ve kept many of my thoughts, stories, and projects to myself because it felt safer that way. Creating Brimblewisp is my attempt to change that.
This space is a small step outside my comfort zone—a place where I can share what I’m creating, what I’m reading, what I’m learning, and the things that spark my curiosity. Maybe not perfectly. Maybe not fearlessly. But consistently. Here you’ll find a little bit of everything: fantasy writing, books, photography, fandom discussions, creative projects, recommendations, reflections, and whatever else catches my attention along the way. If any of those things interest you too, I hope you’ll stick around.
And if you’re someone who’s been putting off starting something because you’re afraid it won’t be good enough, you’re not alone. This blog exists because I finally decided to start before I felt ready. I don’t know exactly what Brimblewisp will become, and honestly, I think that’s part of the adventure. For now, thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m simply happy you’re here.
Here’s to new beginnings, creative adventures, and the stories worth keeping.
